Historic Interest
This pub was probably once knows as Beeton's Beerhouse, based on the landlords' names. A report in the Bury & Norfolk Post & Suffolk Herald** on 10 Feb in 1880 states that : Reference to Mary Ann ALBON keeping a beer house, Glemsford. (NOTE: George Albon was at the Cherry Tree in 1871 & Mary is also listed for 1874, but George had earlier (1851 -55) been at the Black Lion & later, Mary may have later remarried as there are also references to Mary Ann Game & Mary Ann Beeton between 1891 & 1901 - please get in contact if you can help confirm or sort this out) Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found here
