In middle of village. This timber framed building has many exposed beams. The pub is part of the Gusto Pronto family, so serves cask beer from their own brewery – The Brewshed – accompanied by good food. The garden bar and pizzeria is open throughout the summer at weekends in idyllic garden with an outdoor play area.
Historic Interest
A notice in the Suffolk Chronicle** on Apr-17 in 1813 reports the death of Mrs I ROBINSON aged 77, who kept this pub for 45 years. Former 16th cent. courthouse converted to a pub during 18th cent, though still used for the petty sessions after conversion, these were reported to be held in the Crown Inn in 1766.
