This pub retains the name of its former incarnation. This was the first example of a delicatessen and was famous for its coffee maker in the window and its associated rich smell. No longer do patrons mount the stairs to enjoy morning coffee to the accompaniment of a Palm Court trio. Today’s incumbents are of a different hue, where alcoholic drinks are the tipple with or without food accompaniment. Nicely laid out with the open plan broken by a number of differently styled areas. There is a pool table at the rear. Although two pumps on the bar, real ale is currently unavailable, but expected shortly. Breakfast served until 11.30
