Bought from Punch Taverns in 2014, and part of a small pub group including the Sun at Welshampton, the Lowfield at Marton and the Raven at Welshpool. The Bull & Dog is surprisingly large for a rural pub, which is probably because the building has been extended over time, so it now has four areas. The original part is probably the most attractive with low ceilings, an open fire and a funny little snug at one end, all of which is comfortably furnished and is the haunt of casual drinkers. Undoubtedly though, the emphasis is on dining which is why there is much room given over to it. Original name of Bull & Dog was restored in June 2019.
Convenient for the Whixall Moss NNR.
