Bricklayers Arms, Shrewsbury (Brick)

Built by Bass in the 1930's, and acquired by Joule's Brewery in 2009, it reopened on 29/8/24 after a lengthy refurbishment in Joule's typical sympathetic style. Although there is only one bar, the interior contains many separate areas, including the Mayor's Parlour and the Cabinet with just one table. The floors are a mixture of bare floorboards, tiles and flagstones. The comfortable furnishings are a mixture of high and normal size tables and chairs with a long refectory table in the left hand section. The decor includes polished woodwork and bespoke glasswork with enamel signs which look old but aren't and a display of bricklaying equipment. There is a dart board, and unusually, a shuffleboard table. At the front of the pub is a paved garden and undercover shelter. The carpark is at the rear in Hafren Road. TV showing important sports events is confined to one area.

Live music is staged every other Friday and other events are planned in the near future. The friendly tenants are keen to make it a community focused pub.

Wheelchair users can access the bar, but there are no disabled toilets.
