A large bar and restaurant alongside the Gas Street canal basin. Part of the nationwide Botanist chain. Formerly the James Brindley pub, built in the 1980s but closed by 2009, it was refurbished and reopened as Canal House in 2017 and rebranded as The Botanist in 2024.
A two-story building, with seating for 135 diners. The ground floor has a more laid back atmosphere, while upstairs benefits from large windows and is distinctly lighter and airier. The outdoor drinking area can be very busy in the summer months as it benefits from plenty of sun.
Handily located close to the ICC, NIA and Symphony Hall.
