The Blue Bell is an ancient timbered building, full of character. The date above the door is 1667, but parts of this black and white coaching inn date back to the 14th century. Passing the mounting block on the cobbled frontage, you enter by a magnificent oak door into a tiled hallway. There are three heavily-beamed rooms, adorned with many horse brasses and other artefacts. The bar itself is tucked into an inglenook. A glass case holds a number of unusual finds, including a Cavalier's hat from around 1600. One wall in the dining room reveals part of the original wattle and daub. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Four caravan pitches are available in the paddock.
