Originally opened on 29th April 2017 as the Troubadour of Kent being a micropub with a small raised stage area for poetry readings, poetry, storytelling and live acoustic music. After a short closure, it reopened on 25 January 2019 as the Tontine Tavern but closed again shortly afterwards.

Re-opened and relaunched by the local Angels & Demons Brewery on 3rd May 2019 as its taproom and closed on 27 January 2024.

Re-opened in 2024 under the Twisted Wheel brewery as The Blind Pig.

Recently transferred to become the taproom for the new local Swallow Brewery
