Historic Interest

In May 1981 it was a Greenall Whitley Pub selling Mild and Bitter (E). In 1988 fake handpumps were introduced which activated electric pumps, at least this proved that the mild was not keg! However it was not listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide. In 1990 Greenalls did not renew the lease and a subsiduary of Metrolands called Favourite Inns took over the pub and it only sold keg beer. Metrolands were the company behind converting the whole area into a Morrisons supermarket which we still have today.
