This Pub is Permanently Closed
A large modern pub built in the late 1960's to replace an adjacent 18th century coaching inn of the same name. It briefly became a "Bernie Inn" in the 1970's but this didn't last long. A few years later the brewery painted the whole thing pink and renamed it "Sylvester's". This rebranding was also short lived and the pub reverted to being the Black Lion for its final years.
Demolished to make way for care home. Exact closure date unknown.
