This Pub is Permanently Closed
July 2024 - Plans are moving forward to convert the former Bird in Hand pub, in West End Lane, into a house with a block of flats built behind it (2024/2452/P). The application seeks to remove a condition related to a mechanical ventilation system so that development can behind. The pub was first named as a beerhouse in 1831 but has sat empty for 20 years. Plans were approved last year to turn the bar into a self-contained home. A five storey block at the back will provide nine self-contained flats, with associated landscaping, refuse, cycle storage, and a gate facing West End Lane.
A planning application has been submitted to Convert the Bird in Hand in Kilburn to housing. It has been closed for so long it is unlikely to remain a pub. I will look at the application and report back.

This pub has been closed on a number of recent visits so has presumably shut down. All Truman’s pub signage was removed in lockdown, and we reported this to Camden council (no reply). April 2022 - another planning applicaion has been submitteed to convert to residential. CAMRA intends to object.
