A friendly and popular backstreet local, offering good beer and chat. It has won the CAMRA branch Community pub of the year several times and has previously been branch pub of the year. Traditional games are played such as darts and euchre. In the snug bar a book club and knitting club take place. Regular live music including a weekly folk night takes place along with a monthly quiz. The pub hosts an annual beer festival normally late winter. Up to six cask ales and two/three real ciders are normally on offer, including several LocAles. The snug bar is available for small gatherings and meetings.

Disability access - Access into pub narrow and step to the toilet. Male toilet not suitable for wheelchair users.
