Built about 1835, Listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. A Yates's Castle Brewery pub selling John Smiths beers in the early 1980s. Described in 1990 as a lively hotel with good local trade selling John Smiths Bitter and Courage Directors by handpump. The pub closed in the early 2000s and was converted to flats.
