Beware, Wainwright and Hobgoblin beers sold at this pub are keg brewery conditioned beers misleadingly served by handpump. They are not cask conditioned (real ales).

This traditional, friendly, multi-roomed local is believed to be New Brighton's oldest as well as highest pub. It has a conservatory extension.

Historic Interest

Built in 1841, an Argyle Brewery pub becoming Birkenhead Brewery in 1866. The old photo is outside the pub in 1892. Selling Whitbread beers in the 1980s. Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2009.
