This Pub is Closed Long Term
Active Campaign
Dating back to 1824, the hotel has been closed since 2017. A community group, North Queensferry Community Trust, is campaigning to make a big to purchase this pub. The owners Festival Inns SAAS rejected a community bid of £240,000 for the property in 2021. The owner has applied for planning permission to change the pub into flats, but this application was rejected by the local authority, Fife Council after locals objected and an appeal to the Scottish Government also failed. A subsequent planning application was withdrawn. The community group have now made an appeal to use Scotland’s controversial land reform laws in a ground-breaking attempt to enforced a compulsory purchase order.
See the group's website and newspaper article for more details.
