Ground floor bar in a 330 year old building in the historic centre of a town overshadowed by mighty bridges. The one-roomed L-shaped bar boasts an unusual barrel-vaulted ceiling. Dark wood gives an intimate feel with numerous artefacts and old brewery memorabilia which includes various stone bottles and posters from bygone breweries. A good selection of reasonably priced meals is served. The the Tap Whisky Appreciation Tasting Society (TWATS) meet at 6pm every Monday.
