This Club is Permanently Closed
This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
Built in 1884 for the local Conservative Party members. For many years it flourished. By the late 1970s it's members and customers would regularly disturb the local community with loud music and street fights. The number of complaints was so high that Cambridge Magistrates refused to renew its license and the club closed. It was demolished in 1984 and was replaced by a residential block, Beaconsfield House.
