Traditional backstreet corner pub that has been refurbished in a modern, kitchen style. Since 2015 it has been run by the same team as the Portland Arms. Inside there are three distinct areas on two levels. Wooden flooring with tables. The wood fronted bar faces the windows onto the street and has an additional small serving counter for the back area. Enclosed garden to the rear with a recently built garden room that doubles as a function room.
A Greene King pub that is mainly free of tie allowing beers from micros to be served, including from local Buntingford brewery. There's usually a dark beer. Weston's cider. Food is home made and includes a range of burgers with bread from a local bakery. £8 a burger Monday to Friday lunch. Sunday roasts.
