15th century pub and former gin palace consisting of a long lounge with door through to smaller bar room. The long bar runs three quarters the length of the two rooms. It has a garden, patio and carpark to rear. The pub was originally known as the Horseshoes. In 1843 it was visited by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert en-route from Belvoir Castle to Melton Mowbray. The 'Royal' part of its title was added from that day. At the time it was one of 17 ale houses in the village. There are usually five cask ales available, at least one from a local brewery. There is a full menu both lunch and evenings offering traditional pub food with homemade desserts. There is a dart board available and a darts team that plays on Friday nights. The Royal Horseshoes was awarded a Branch Merit Award in November 2016 due to the quality and range of real ale available.
