An excellent single-bar village pub with an easy-going feel. The wood burner in the inglenook fireplace at one end of the bar is especially welcoming on cold winter days, and in summer the large beer garden is a great place to relax. There's quiet background music, and a 'bring your own vinyl' afternoon on Sundays from 4-8pm.
A huge display of beer mats attached to the bar timbering is testament to the many guest beers offered in the past. Three ales and two ciders are usually available, alongside excellent home-cooked food, served in the bar or the separate restaurant area (booking is highly recommended). There's also a separate pool room.
Closed Tuesdays in winter, an extra ale in summer.
