A prominent building visible from Burley Cross gifted to the working men of Burley on a 1000 year lease and Burley Club covenant on 26 March 1945 by Mrs. Vanda Wathen-Bartlett. Now also open to the public with substantial drink and food discounts for club members. Original building believed to have existed around 1897 when temporary stewards Frank and Ellen Marchant, distant relatives of existing President, had extended stay due to their house burning down. The current office was the former bicycle and coal shed and a green galvanised lean-to was the entrance accessed by steps. An extension in the 1970's added the car park, large function room and new entrance. History of successful darts and snooker teams and visit by Scott Mitchell, local World Darts Champion, planned shortly. Quiz machine and juke box available. Local ales often sourced freely with permission of Greene King.
