Hours shown are for April 2024. The following description dates from 2022.
Welcoming and prominent 1900s roadside pub catering for all, be they two or four legged. Guest ales may be available in busy periods. Staff are generally knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the real ale available. In summer, a draught cider is sometimes served. Featuring many attractive stained glass windows, old prints and antiques in alcoves and open fires in the winter. A large menu and daily specials cater for all food tastes from noon to 9 daily. A discount scheme is offered to regular customers for weekday food. A large family room and large adventure playground keeps children amused; and horses may be tethered in the extensive car park. Handy for forest walks and local riding stables, 5 minutes drive from Bashley Park caravan site and only slightly longer from New Milton train station. Equestrian friendly.
Taken over by Fuller's in 2023 and then closed for a refurbishment 2024, reopening on 2nd April 2024. Current beer range unknown but expected to be Fuller's. Be aware that under Fuller's the guest beers are at a somewhat unexpected premium price and look out for the discretionary 10% service charge that may be added to push the price up further.
