In years gone by, a pub called The Six Bells stood next door to the site, and was used as the headquarters of the bell ringers from the adjacent St Thomas's Church. The building had stood as a furniture store (and later adding kitchen/houseware products) for over 170 years before being converted by Wetherspoon in 2013. There are many old photographs of Lymington and historical notes displayed around the walls. An interesting feature is the arrangement of mirrors set outside the toilets on the top floor, which have been angled to show views of the Church tower next door. The bar and food servery are located on the middle floor which is accessed via a sweeping stairway from the ground floor. There is a lift available for disabled customers. The rear of the bar floor opens onto a pleasant walled garden and covered patio area.
