Talking Heads, Southampton

This pub closed at the end of January 2016. The music business has transferred to a new venue, The Maple Leaf http://whatpub.com/pubs/HAS/00841/

The Talking Heads had change of use permission while still open but other redevelopment permission had been refused. The intention was to demolish and build student flats but no planning application had gone in before closure. Ultimately permission was granted for conversion to flats.

The legacy description was: Front public bar with bare boards and a variety of upholstered chairs has a bohemian feel. At the back is a medium sized music venue (a charge may apply here). Also open mic comedy sessions on some Mondays & front bar sessions on Sunday afternoons. Beer range varies with an emphasis on local breweries. No food but the 'Frying Druid' food van can be found in the back car park most nights. Step-free access but without full disabled facilities. Note that the hours shown here can vary - closing time is trade/event dependent and opening may be later than advertised.
