A spacious open plan pub with stylish modern decor with a mixture of old style wood and tile flooring. On entry you are greeted by a wide bar and some casual seating in front of an open fire. The pub then extends to a rear eating area with a large open kitchen serving sumptuous pizzas plus Italian inspired food. Beyond this is more seating outside in a marquee. Outside is a gravel area with bench seating and a grassed area with domed pods that can be booked for a private dining experience.
This is a popular community pub that holds numerous events including beer and cider festivals. Whenever open, the pub also acts as café providing hot drinks, cakes and ice creams.
The pub is located in a dip between two villages, known as Lapstone Bottom. The building was originally two cottages built circa 1740 and has been a hostelry for over 100 years. After being taken over by locals, the pub remained closed for over 3 years during which time it underwent a major refurbishment (increasing its size many fold), to finally reopen its doors in December 2020 (under Tier 2 Covid restrictions).
