Stone built open plan corner pub on the road leading to Harlow Carr Gardens formerly a Tetley's house now operated in tandem with its sister pub in Knaresborough. Totally refurbished in 2012 to a modern theme. There's a kitchen on the ground floor and it's very busy serving food with an extensive menu and wine choice. Four handpumps dispense three local real ales.

Note that this pub chain charges a small premium on the price of half pints.
