17th century inn housing a first class dining pub in a hilltop village between Nidderdale and Wensleydale. The pub was reopened in August 2025 after a two-and-a-half year closure, and is now under the ownership of nearby Grantley Hall. In spite of looking every inch a Dale's village pub the interior is modernly decorated to a high standard and equipped mainly for dining, although hints of an older pub still show through. Stone flagged floors, open fire and a wood burning stove, upholstered settles, a few bar stools at the bar, with tables and chairs permanently set out for meals. Walls are adorned with a mix of mirrors, pictures, brasses and other objects. Three handpulls serve Yorkshire ales but watch out for a 10% (optional) service charge which may be added when buying drinks at the bar.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.
