Original Description:

A lively locals roadside pub on the main road from Todmorden to Hebden Bridge. One real ale is available, usually from Thwaites. On entering the main bar is in front of you, with a lounge area to the right and a games area to the left with a pool table and darts board. There is a large beer garden at the rear, accessed through the door at the end of the bar.

Once a Whitbread (West Pennine, not Yorkshire) tied house, unusually it did not offer real ale at a time when the other pubs under the same umbrella offered the likes of Castle Eden, Chesters and Hartleys at varioous times. More recently, real ale was offered, usually from national brands.
