A welcoming micropub with a community feel, the Alehouse sits in a row of shops set back from the road: the River Calder is actually culverted under the broad patio area. A wooden bar is located at the rear of the single room, which features exposed brickwork and offers various seating options. Works by local artists often adorn the walls, usually these are for sale. Piped music may be played at times, but at low volume.
As well as the keg Pulp ciders, Eagles Crag K++ is offered on KeyKeg, while the Joseph Holt's Crystal lager is a rarity in the area.
