Located close to Halifax Piece Hall and Westgate Arcade, in central Halifax, this modern and tastefully decorated bar opened in September 2019. The name is derived from a large grizzly bear which escaped from Halifax Zoo. The classy room is split level and incorporates comfortable seating with the bar being located on a higher level. Five beers are provided on handpull, and usually includes a dark beer. There are seven keg lines and locally sourced/made bar food is available. The bar holds occasional beer festivals and Tap Takeovers.
The pub might stay open later if there is an event at the nearby Piece Hall.
