Award-winning genuine free house which has been cleverly converted from a former cafe in such a way that you would think it has been a pub for many years. There are two low-ceilinged rooms downstairs with stone-flagged floors and a further room upstairs. The guest ales are mostly from local breweries. At least one dark beer is regularly available, usually a mild as well as a stout or porter. Two real ciders are also available (from cider makers such as Grumpy John's or Orchards of Husthwaite), one of which is fruit flavoured. There is also a good range of foreign beers. Regular beer festivals are held. There is a small outdoor drinking area. No admittance to under 18s. Leeds CAMRA Pub of the Year 2022.
