Corran, Onich

The Corran Ferry Hotel was demolished late 2013 when the buildings foundations were found to be failing and was replaced with this new and impressive building.

The origional "Nether Lochaber Hotel" was a temperance hotel, and renamed the Corran Ferry Hotel. Under the red painted tin roof around the back concealed the very popular bar and was a frequent entry in the Good Beer Guide between 1993 to 2003.

Although "The Corran" did not have real ale on hand pump when surveyed (October 2017) it does have an extensive slection of bottled beers, Orkney being given as an example.

The spacious intereior with large windows facing the "Corran Narrows" and the Corran Ferry (operated by Highland Council) plying to and fro between 06:30 - 21:30 for the 5 minute crossing.

Car and foot passengers are free, as are bicycles, but cars are £8 (disabled free), but saves the 40 mile / 1 hr 15 journey to get to Inn at Ardgour on the other side.

In the summer this crossing is very popular, but the wait time is usually no more than 30 minutes.

The small car park is for those visiting the Corran, not for those crossing as foot passengers!

Food is available all day, with last orders taken at 20:30 before closing as advertised.

Between 16:00 and 17:30 there is a limited food service.

From late October to March there is a Sunday roast, and Fish Teas are available on Thursday and Friday.
