The Huntsman traded from 1840 to 1963. The archive images (thanks to www.dover-uk.com for sharing) suggest that in the early 20th century the pub had been part of the Russell's brewery tied estate, and that it would have passed to Truman, Hanbuiry and Buxton & Co Ltd on the latter's takeover of Russell's in 1930.
Sadly the pub was later demolished, and a residential housing development was built on the site. But at least the developers had the decency to name the building 'Huntsman House'.
