Built in 1879, this is a traditional community pub consisting of a public bar and a lounge bar to the front of house. Behind these is a games room, and then a skittles long alley. May stay open longer in the evening if there is demand.
Historic Interest
A conspicuous date stone set high in the front gable-end wall suggests this pub was built in 1879. This suggestion is endorsed by a framed plaque hung on the wall in the lounge displaying a full list of the pubs tenants since that date. It is believed by members of Wigston Historical Society, that at some stage, there was an undertaker working from these premises with mortuary tables in the cellar. For many years owned by Everards, they sold the pub to PubCo Hawthorn Leisure in 2021.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 4 regular beers.
