Popular village inn, situated close to cycle trails, the Dean Forest Steam Ralway, RSPB reserve and other major attractions. Built over 200 years ago, it was extended when the Severn and Wye Railway reached the village in 1875. Many items of local historical interest are on display in the pub. Good quality food is on offer, with a separate dining room from the main bar. On Sunday lunchtimes the pub also runs a very popular carvery. Four star accommodation (including one room with disabled facilities) is available in the inn itself, while an adjoining bunkhouse caters for groups of 9 - 32. There are also two spaces, with electric hook-up points, allocated for motorhome stop-overs.
