Affectionately known as the Woody, the Woodman was originally the New Inn – Whitbread changed the name in the 1970’s. Now a popular pub opposite the village cricket ground, offering a varied menu. The Woodman is situated near to Whitemead Forest Park (Lodges, caravanning etc), and backs onto a cycle track linking with the Colliers Trail - a great way to explore the Forest of Dean. The pub can get very busy in the summer. Look out for happy hour, beers at £4 a pint between 4 and 6pm.
