This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

Formerly an imposing brick building with a stone arched entrance, there was an extensive clubhouse behind it. It was demolished in 2023 to make way for student accommodation.

Historic Interest

Planning approval granted end of 2014 to demolish and build shop, 45 flats, and replacement social club. Nothing happened. Another application August 2019 to build student accommodation, no shop or club. Withdrawn. Another application Feb 2021 for 206 student rooms and community use - use class F2.
