This is a large town centre pub with several distinct areas and a range of St Austell beers. Having been closed briefly, it reopened in May 2013 following a major refurbishment. A tiled bar area and wooden floored room are available for eating and drinking, there is also a separate restaurant. Other open rooms surround two sides of the marquee covered courtyard. A good range of award winning food is served all day, with a la carte lunchtime menu served until 1430, evening meals served from 1730-2100. A reduced bar menu may also be available from 1500 - 1700. The pub also has 7 rooms for overnight accommodation.

Grade-II listed 20/12/83, exterior listed. List Entry No 131 8223, Legacy System No 93514. Early to Mid C19. Two storeys stuccoed. Slate roof. Three sashes with glazing bars intact. Central splayed doorcase with hood on console brackets, panelled reveals and rectangular fanlight. Included for group value.
