Previously owned by John Smith’s then Ward’s breweries, the Butcher's Arms is now a genuine free house owned by the licensees.
This traditional local was built in 1905 and retains two drinking rooms and a pool room. The tap room hosts a dart board and TV screens whilst in the lounge old pictures of Braithwell adorn the walls, many depict the annual wheelbarrow race still held in Braithwell and there’s a 1970 picture of the village football team which includes the current landlord, he will gladly point this out if asked. Quiz night is Thursday.
A function room seats up to 50 and hogs are roasted occasionally in the large beer garden during the summer months. Real ale not available since early 2024.
