This Pub is Closed Long Term
The Plough was the brewery tap for the Wood's Brewery, thus beer miles were minimal since it was said that the product has only to travel some 10 yards from brewery to cellar. The Wood family bought the Plough (their local) in 1968, and began brewing on the premises in 1980. After a change of ownership the brewery ceased trading in February 2022.
To the left from the entrance hall, in what is the old part of the building, is the snug bar and games room. This is a cheerful and comfortable area and provides a welcoming retreat for drinkers. To the right from the entrance hall, and in the extension, is the dining room. This is now a large, bright and airy place, and is big enough to cater for drinkers as well. They quite often linger on the comfy seating in the pleasant little lounge area to the side of the dining room.
Once owned by the Wrekin Brewery of Wellington. No stranger to the Good Beer Guide, it has made more than 20 appearances over the years.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
