The 18th century Grade II Listed Castle Hotel is a rather impressive place and has a great deal going for it. Its elevated position on the site of what was the castle overlooking the little town of Bishops Castle and the hills surrounding it, sets the scene. There are three bars, each with its own character, but at the same time contributing to the overall ambience of a comfortable traditional pub that has bags of period charm. Three beer tasting paddles are acailable.

An 18th-century hotel, notable for the splendidly cosy bar to the left of the main entrance. The fittings here are mainly late 19th/early 20th-century. Above the boarded dado is imitation boarding, a cheap substitute for the real thing often used at the time. The counter has a simple, match-boarded front while the bar back comprises old shelving on a mirrored backing. Glazed screen on the right and plain brick fireplace to the left. The lounge and panelled dining room are largely devoid of old fittings and the bar rear left is all modern.
Dated 1719 with mid to late 18th-century addition at rear. This 18th-century hotel has a splendidly cosy, old-fashioned bar lies immediately to the left of the main entrance. The fittings dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century. There is a boarded dado and above this imitation wooden boarding which was sometimes used in the early 20th century as a cheap substitute for the real thing. There is a glazed screen on the right hand side and a plain brick fireplace on the left. The counter has a simple matchboarded front and the bar back is old shelving on a mirrored backing. The lounge to the left and panelled dining room to the right have few old fittings and there is a modern bar at the rear left.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 4 regular beers.
