The pub itself is Grade II Listed and is of the traditional two-roomed layout, with a public bar and lounge. The bar is very much a typical friendly rural retreat with exposed stone walls, low beams, copperwork, wood burner, inglenook, settles and the buzz of conversation. The lounge doubles as the dining room and is tastefully done out in the cottage style.
Historic Interest
One of fifteen pubs in the Branch area which appeared in the first Good Beer Guide in 1974. And here's what it said "Greenall Whitley (Wem) bitter & mild. Small comfortable pub" At that time it was a Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery house, but it has been owned by the Wrekin Brewery of Wellington as well. Formerly home of the Six Bells Brewery which closed in 2018. It occupied the site of the original brewery which closed in the early 1900’s!
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 3 regular beers.
