Former 18th century coaching inn with a single long, split-level bar and stone fireplaces. Taller customers should beware of the low beam above the step half-way along the bar! Theakston Bitter and Black Sheep Best Bitter alternate, leaving the other three taps for guest beers are from the Stonegate-SIBA list. Guest beers include some from local breweries such as Timothy Taylor and Wensleydale, or from national names such as Fullers. The popular food menu is 'free of tie' and cooked on the premises. The beer garden has been largely weatherproofed through the addition of translucent awnings. Quiz night is on Wednesdays.
