14th century pub converted in 2013 to an upmarket hotel and restaurant with a modern interior. The small bar, with woodburner, is now predominantly an area for diners and those waiting for the restaurant. Opens for breakfast, including non-residents, at 7am Mon-Fri & at 8am Sat & Sun. Food is served all day, with a reduced menu (sandwiches, salads, burgers & pizza) Mon-Sat from 3-6pm and after 4pm on Sunday. There is a carvery on Sun from 12noon-4pm - two sittings, booking is advised. Leased from Brakspear by The Tailor Made Dining Company who also run the Crown in Playhatch.
