Traditional wood-beamed pub.

This family-run, pub is located in the heart of Wingham. The rambling, multi-roomed interior with dark beams and wooden floors make for a comfortable, welcoming environment, in which to have a drink or a meal.

There's a good selection of cask ales of varying styles, usually featuring one ale from a Kent brewery.

The Anchor is renowned for its acoustic/eclectic music events, which include live music on Sundays, adhoc shows from international touring artists and an annual music festival. A fun quiz is held every other Thursday.

The function room/Arts Centre is available for hire and is a community resource used by local people. It hosts several clubs and social/charity events including open mic nights, guitar & ukulele clubs. The pub is popular with cycling and walking groups.

The large garden, hosts Bat & Trap and Petanque pitches, and an outside stage.

There is free public car park nearby and ample on-street parking.

Entering the Pub: There’s a steepish ramp, with handrail. Getting Around the Pub: There are a couple of very small steps (~5cm) when moving around the pub. Toilets: There’s step-free access to the Gents. The Ladies has sufficient room for a wheel chair, with ambulatory access to a cubicle with handrails. Garden: There is step free access via the staff entrance door at the back of the pub. Pétanque has been played by wheelchair users.
