Former Watney pub which spent some time as a Nicholsons Free House with polished wooden floors. An impressive with some splendid frontage with some original and new glasswork. The alls are decorated with sketches and print of Prince Alfred's wedding to Arch Duchess Marie in St Petersburg. The pub was rebuilt in 1863 when the previous name was the Cross Keys (as recalled by Cross Keys Yard beside the pub).
