This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Sawyer’s Arms appeared in each of the Good Beer Guide’s editions of 1976 to 1979 and 1981. The 1979 entry reads:

“Popular pub near to Bromley Bus garage. Shepherd Neame, Mild, Bitter, Best Bitter.”

The Dover Kent web entry relating to the Sawyer’s Arms, in addition to a picture of the building in its current Mc Donald’s incarnation, has a photo of a pub of the same name housed in a much smaller building, plus a circa 1920 drawing of the latter. It also includes pictures of the pub’s different signs in 1986 and 1992.
