It had been known as The Lord Wellington, a change of name in 1982 to the Jeremy Bentham gave away location and customers. Bentham is considered the godfather of University College London and the pub sits in the heart of the Medical School. All that came to and end in 2016/2017 when Greene King disposed of the premises and it eventually came into the hand of Simmons, a chain of cocktail bars. Large clear windows let in plenty of light with wooden benches on the pavement providing a busy suntrap on a summer day.
