Reopened 28th March 2025. This is a popular street corner locals' pub, with log fires in the winter, and a courtyard garden for the summer.

Active Campaign

The pub closed in June 2024. A community group has set up a community benefit society (The Lion Tavern Community Hub Limited) with the eventual aim being to buy the freehold of this pub from its owners, Stonegate. In Jan 2025 the group announced that Stonegate was refurbishing the pub and was interviewing prospective tenants.
