Founded in 1874 by Dr Okell, this is the main brewery on the island and moved in 1994 to a new, purpose-built plant at Kewaigue. All the beers are produced under the Manx Brewers’ Act.

Rich and dark with smoky aromas of liquorice and coffee, brewed with a blend of pale, crystal, black and chocolate malts. Initially sweet and full bodied, the silky smooth liquorice on the palate gives way to dry hop bitter finals.
